Learner Driver Insurance cover we think you’ll like!

Adding Learner Driver Insurance to run alongside an existing Insurance policy is a great way to get invaluable practice in a family member or friend’s car. Alternatively, you may have your own car and wish to take out Insurance that continues beyond your driving test.

According to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), on average it takes 45 hours of professional Driving lessons along with an additional 22 hours of private practice to adequately prepare for the UK Driving test. By getting additional private practice, you will greatly increase your chances of success!

In years gone by, private practice was often a problem due to the cost of insuring learner drivers. There was also concern about the impact on the Policy holder’s insurance if  there was a claim.

The good news is that more recently, several Insurer’s have sought to address this problem and now provide tailor made policies. These are specifically designed to cover learner’s who wish to practise privately.

There are several providers in the market. Below are details of two of our personal favourites based on price, customer service and product features

Marmalade provide both learner driver insurance and insurance for young drivers who have already passed their driving test. They can even give you a great deal on a new car with new driver insurance included! For more details click here.

My First UK offer both ‘stand alone’ short term cover and annual Insurance for both provisional licence holders and newly qualified drivers. As with Marmalade, the cost of annual cover doesn’t increase once you pass your driving test! To get a quote, click here.
